The US Open is the major American professional tennis event and the final Grand Slam of the year, attracting the highest seeded players in the world, most of whom have already competed in the French open, the Australian Open and at Wimbledon. The US Open is the only professional sports event paying equal prize money to both men and women. The USTA National Tennis Center and the surrounding area provide a number of hospitality possibilities. The proximity of well traveled subway lines makes this an extremely popular event for area guests, as well as out of town guests who also want to experience a Broadway show or other Manhattan attractions. Almost two weeks of preliminary matches on the Center's many courts culminate in an action packed finals weekend that is not to be missed.
